Safe Education Sector Programme
The Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency’s (CDEMA) Regional Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy and Results Framework 2014-...

Our work spans multiple programmes, each designed to enhance learning environments and build resilience through innovative and cost-effective solutions. In our Improving Learning through Classroom Experience programme, we have successfully implemented practical retrofits and environmental controls to improve classroom conditions. By optimizing temperature, noise, and lighting, we have helped create more productive learning spaces while keeping costs low. Our expertise ensures that these interventions are both effective and sustainable.
Through the Predictive Models for Classroom Conditions programme, we have leveraged advanced AI tools to predict classroom temperatures in Tanzanian schools. By combining real-time temperature readings with satellite data, we have developed accurate models that help schools plan for and mitigate extreme classroom temperatures. This data-driven approach enables smarter decision-making, ensuring that students can learn in comfortable conditions.
Our collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) focuses on strengthening disaster resilience in the education sector. We have contributed to the Safe Education Sector Plans (SESPs) to enhance disaster preparedness across Caribbean nations. Our work includes developing national education sector plans, providing guidelines for contingency planning, and overseeing training programmes to improve disaster response.
Research combined with practical interventions, and training served to create safer and more resilient learning environments worldwide.
We work across diverse educational landscapes to develop evidence-based solutions. Explore our initiatives on Education and Climate Change:
